The Fullerton Building, completed in 1928, is named after the first Governor of the Straits Settlements, Robert Fullerton.
This iconic structure was formerly commissioned as the General Post Office Building due to its strategic location at the heart of the city of Singapore.
At one point, it also housed the Ministry of Trade and Industry, the Chamber of Commerce, and various other government departments.
The building is such a beautiful and meaningful piece of architecture that it has been gazetted as one of the National Monuments of Singapore.
It is now one of the highest rated and well-known hotels in Singapore – The Fullerton Hotel.

Below, a closer look at the top three reasons to choose The Fullerton – whether you are looking for a base for sightseeing in the city, or a laid-back vacation just chilling and enjoying all the amenities that the hotel has to offer.
The Locality

Everything is just a stone’s throw away.
For the arts and history buffs, the Asian Civilisation Museum is situated a leisurely two-minute walk from the hotel – from the main entrance of the hotel, just cross the Cavenagh Bridge (the only steel suspension bridge in Singapore and built at a time when horse-drawn carriages were still a common mode of transportation).
Slightly further down the road is the National Gallery Singapore (former Supreme Court and City Hall), which has the largest public collection of Southeast Asian modern art on display.

Head to the Art Science Museum if you are interested in art incorporated with a touch of science and technology.
As a bonus, you will encounter a couple of iconic landmarks along the way – such as the Merlion statue, the Esplanade and the Helix bridge.

Alternatively, you can indulge in some serious retail therapy while treating yourself to some of the finest dining experiences at the Marina Bay Shoppes.

Love to party the night away?
Just take a scenic walk along the meandering Singapore River and you will be treated to a dazzling array of restaurants, bars and clubs at the Boat Quay and Clarke Quay areas.

Looking for theatre or musical performances?
The Victoria Theatre & Concert Hall (home of the Singapore Symphony Orchestra) is right next door and the Esplanade (Singapore’s National performing arts centre showcasing local and regional dance, music and theatre talent) is no more than a five-minute walk away.
The Views
The entire Fullerton Heritage area is set at the mouth of the picturesque Singapore River.

The hotel is perfectly situated at a spot which offers splendid views of the river as well as the Marina Bay Area, unobstructed by the surrounding skyscrapers of the Central Business District.

Whether you are having your breakfast, taking a dip in the pool or simply lounging in your balcony, there is always a breathtaking scene you can enjoy.

The Suites

For an added level of convenience and luxury, check yourself into one of the many suites in the hotel.

Staying in a suite entitles you to the Straits Club lounge access, which comes with a whole host of benefits such as complimentary afternoon tea, evening cocktails, post-dinner drinks and sparkling wine for breakfast.

Amidst the dazzling array of food and beverage perks, don’t forget to leave some room to sample the exquisite dim sum creations at the Jade restaurant and the pretty Swiss rolls from the in-house cake boutique.

The suite itself is spacious yet cozy.
The view from our balcony is magnificent, turning magical in the nighttime when the dark sky is illuminated by the brilliant city lights.

Additionally, the bathrobe is so plush and velvety that you could sure as hell live the rest of your life in it.
All these make for an absolutely unforgettable experience.
